SYMPTOMS
========

If a Binary Compatible Server implements an interface from a DLL, and the
DLL is recompiled as Project Compatible so that its interface GUID is
changed, then the [[BadImplementsReflnCompatLib]] error occurs when the
Server is recompiled.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this
bug and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge
Base as it becomes available.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior
---------------------------

1. Create a new ActiveX DLL project. Class1 is created by default.

2. From the Project menu, select Project Properties. Change the Project
   name to MyServer.

3. In Class1, paste the following code:

      Public Sub Test()
      End Sub

4. Select Make MyServer.dll from the File menu.

5. From the File menu, select Add Project to add another new ActiveX
   DLL project to the current workspace.

6. Change the Project Name to MyNewServer.

7. Select References from the Project menu, and then select MyServer.

8. In Class1, paste the following code:

      Implements MyServer.Class1

      Private Sub Class1_Test()
      End Sub

9. From the File menu, select Make MyNewServer.dll.

10. Select MyNewServer Properties from the Project menu. Select the
   Component tab and set version compatibility to Binary Compatibility with
   MyNewServer.dll.

11. Repeat step 4 to compile MyServer as MyServer.dll again
    NOTE: Project Compatibility is set automatically.

12. Repeat step 9 to compile MyNewServer. Note that the error described
   above occurs.
